Award Ceremony of ICT Innovators under NIISP PHASE III
The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance is currently implementing the National ICT Initiatives Support Program (NIISP) whose main objective is to facilitate the development of the ICT innovation ecosystem in Uganda. One of the main components of the NIISP program is offering direct support to ICT innovators.
It is against this background that the Third call for ICT Innovators was published in the media in April 2020. The Third Call was mainly focused on the following thematic areas: applications to support the fight against Covid-19, Health information systems and applications to improve Public Service Delivery. The call which run until 30th April 2020, attracted over 950 online applications. These applications were subsequently evaluated by the NIISP Selection Committee of experts which was appointed by the Hon. Minister of ICT and National Guidance. This evaluation which was in consultation with the respective sector players is now completed.
The Ministry therefore announces that the Innovation Award Ceremony of the successful innovations will be held on Wednesday 03rd February 2021 starting at 10:00am at the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance. The Chief Guest shall be the Hon. Minister of ICT and National Guidance. Physical attendance of the event shall be by invitation only but all stakeholders are welcome to attend the online event - the link is available on the Ministry websites.
The Ministry takes this opportunity to thank all the individuals, organisations and teams that submitted proposals to the National ICT Initiatives Support Programme (NIISP).
